Tracing Franz Liszt’s Legacy in Hungary

Hungarian folk music, especially Gypsy music, had a remarkable influence on his works. Among his world-famous and beloved compositions is the Hungarian Rhapsody.
Liszt’s greatest legacy is the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, founded in 1875 and named after its founder and patron. This prestigious institution is shaped by world-class classical musicians and renowned Hungarian artists, creating an international atmosphere.
